Visy

Two weeks ago we went to visy .We were learning about recycling.I was in room 12 with Mrs Tuipulotu .This is a short explanation about what we were learning about at visy. It was really interesting learning about recycling!Thank you Greer!

Our school fun run

On Friday the 4th of September 2015 we had a whole school fun run.First lets get the results of the year 5 & 6's

1st place year 5 girls : Fifita.u room 14.

2nd place year 5 girls : Vika room 13.

3rd place (tie) : Vasiata (rm 13) Sylvia (rm 15)

On Friday the 4th of September we did a whole school fun run.

I was so tired because we had to run around the WHOLE BLOCK!

Lucky for the parents they get to watch.I thought the fun run was good for the children cause it could make them fit.I was so tired and exhausted.After my year group ran I felt so exhausted I thought I was going to faint. I'm sure every body enjoyed there day.My favourite part of the fun run was when we went through the huge balloon.I am very proud of my best friend Fifita.u for taking top spot (first place)out of year 5 girls.

Keeping safe online

Hello!!This year I have had a Chromebook.Mrs Moore and Miss Haydon wanted us to use our Chromebook safely and keep safe online . I enjoy using my Chromebook but I do need to be careful
online and I also care about your safety. So here is my slide hope you enjoy!

Maths

                                            Today at maths we were working with Bina.

We were solving a problem about toothpicks.

The first thing we did was Mrs Moore separated us into groups of three.The problem goes like this.

Ripeka and Jan were sitting around playing with toothpicks when Ripeka started to make a pattern of squares.How many toothpicks would she need to make a pattern like this that had 9 squares.

I was in a group with Hermione and Savahn.

The first thing we did was grabbed some ice block sticks and pretend that they were toothpicks.

Then we put them in the exact same pattern as it said on the problem solving sheet but it said on the paper  9 squares.So then we created the same pattern but we just used the 1 square and the two because it was up to nine.To be honest me and my group were kind of frustrated and confused but we never gave up.

When we got  help from Bina me and my group started to work more on the problem and instead of frustrated and confused we got happier and more on to it.

When we got to the end we were so happy that we never gave up.

Mrs Moore was also happy with us that she gave us a sunshine each.

In the problem my answer was wrong because we added spare sticks and it equaled 36.

The actual answer was 32 because we didn't need spare sticks.
